Today we have Sis Wanping teaching us about the basics and principles of fasting!
-Fasting is a spiritual discipline that draws us nearer to God-
Matthew 6 talks about, praying, fasting and giving! The frequency of a christian doing these 3 elements should be equal. How often u pray = how often u fast = how often u give! That's what God will like to see in a christian ba =]
1.) Everyone can fast. It's a fact! Recorded in the bible, an 84 yr old oso fasted! ( Please dun lose to this old man =.=!) God knows there is never a convenient time to fast one.. like u wan to fast, den gt distractions all that.. God knows!! But Jesus very the smart. Wan to fast, go mountains where there are no ppl to distract him -.-! More on distractions later..... =p
2.)It's good to start a phase of ur life with a fast! let me go thru SOME of the phases... first toy... first sermon.. first day of sch.. pri sch, sec sch, poly, jc, ite, uni, money... ops =x i mean work =p As we grow older, we inevitably faces different phases in life!
The Free Chapel fast as a church for 21 days every start of the year, they believe every year should start wif a fast! Blessing pour on that church like mad i tell u.. 1 million of offering from someone!! Those having o lvls, its not too late to fast and pray... Let God's blessing be upon u! Matthew 6:33 -Seek first the kingdom... (find urself) IT says if u seek God first, u will haf everything else. including good results. God + good results or good results only? ur choice ^_^ (teens like freedom rite =.= )
3.) Fasting break the spirit of heaviness in problems. There is a pastor in korea, pastor choo yong gee or smth, dunno how to spell, his church bought an entire mountain! to move it! by faith! nah juz kidding.
They make holes into the mountain, den allow ppl to really spend time with God there. Whenver people come to him for advice, he say.. go into the mountain and fast & pray. (cell group ldrs better learn this =p)
4.) We'll hear God, God will hear us. As u fast and pray, u begin to hear God better! Daniel 10:12-13 -Dun be discouraged if u dun see outright results from ur fast, be patient and stand back, see God work. ^_^ Isaiah 58:9 -Cry for help and God says, "Here I am"
How to fast? types of fasting? -If the fast matters to u, it matters to God. gt one song... if there is no pain in sacrifice, i rather dun sacrifice. forget how to sing -.-
1.) Normal Fast No food. only plain water. Can continue normal activities during the fast. If need be, clear soup and juices can be consumed for energy throughout the day.
2.) partial fast means u give up certain food. like MEAT. maybe can give up vegetables. LOL! Daniel 1:8 -They chose to eat vegetables! no meat! goodness! seriously i tink normal fast is equivalent to this LOL! =p for me la -.-
3.) Total fast no food no water no air =x no la can haf air LOL do this onli wif medical supervision, to contact Dr.bob, call this number 92471330 =p
Tips! 1.) start small, dun first time fasting den go for 24 hour fast.. u buay tahan one.. machiam ask u all go run 24km now.. HAHAHAHAHAHAH 2.) by fasting, u r actually purging out toxins from ur body! ^_^ 3.) dun attempt to eat alot b4 u fast 4.) keep it a secret! dun tell ppl. because if ppl noe, they will tot u v holy.. that will be ur reward. thats it. but if ppl dunno, God sees. And His rewards come! =] Matthew 6:16-18
ok rmb i said abt distractions?! here it is!
1.) dun watch tv.. self-explainatory.. 2.) dun keep tinking.. cannot eat kfc.. cannot tink kfc.. cannot smell kfc.. cuz u r tinking abt food! BODOH! =p HAHAHA
Rewards of fasting -matthew 17:21 More sensitive to the Holy spirit, hence the Holy Spirit can lead u to live a holier life. Prepares u for new annointing - Mark 2:22 u can noe God's assignment for ur life since u hear Him clearer.

THIS IS INTERESTING! and I TOTALLY AGREE TO IT!
Cell phone vs. Bible Ever wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone? What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets? What if we flipped through it several time a day? What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it? What if we used it to receive messages from the text? What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it? What if we gave it to Kids as gifts? What if we used it when we traveled? What if we used it in case of emergency? This is something to make you go....hmm...where is my Bible? Oh, and one more thing. Unlike our cell phone, we don't have to worry about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill. Makes you stop and think 'where are my priorities? And no dropped calls!

so the girls will wear RED! (because white very easily can see inside!! u girls must help the guys rmb????) = D and the guys will sacrifice, we will wear WHITE! okie? but let's say, u girl u dun have red then wear white lor. BUT! make sure cannot really see inside k? then let's say u guy u dun have white then wear red lor. BUT! make sure is not PINK! = p hahahahaha!!
