GOD SPEAKS THROUGH CIRCUMSTANCES AND CHURCH

Pastor Daniel sharing...

Proverbs 3:5-6
- Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

- In all circumstances, God wants to speak to us, is whether we want to listen or not.

1. Understanding your circumstances from God's perspective.
- Circumstances cannot translate into bible.
- Always go back to the Bible for the truth.
- Our theology guide your choices. Not the other way round.
theology: our understanding of God

How to respond when circumstances are difficult or confusing:

1. Settle in your own mind that God has forever demonstrated His absolute love for you on the cross.

- With every problem, it is a spiritual promotion.

2. Do not try to understand what God is like from the middle of your circumstances.

3. Go to God and ask Him to help you see His perspective on your situation. (Revelation 4:1)

Revelation 4:1

- After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, "Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this."

4. Wait on the Holy Spirit. He may take the Word of God and help you understand your circumstances.

5. Adjust your life to God and what you see Him doing in your circumstances.

6. Do all He tells you to do.

7. Experiencing God working in and through you to accomplish His purposes.

[Exodus 5,6] read yourself, coz the chapters are very very long.. thz!! =)

- God is patient with Moses.

- When we face circumstances, do not blame God! Learn from Moses.

- Whenever bad things happen, it is an opportunity for us to grow!

John 6:1-15

- Some time after this, Jesus crossed to the far shore of the Sea of Galilee (that is, the Sea of Tiberias), and a great crowd of people followed him because they saw the miraculous signs he had performed on the sick. Then Jesus went up on a mountainside and sat down with his disciples. 4The Jewish Passover Feast was near. When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, "Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?" He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do. Philip answered him, "Eight months' wages would not buy enough bread for each one to have a bite!" Another of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, spoke up, "Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?" Jesus said, "Have the people sit down." There was plenty of grass in that place, and the men sat down, about five thousand of them. Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish. When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, "Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted." So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten. After the people saw the miraculous sign that Jesus did, they began to say, "Surely this is the Prophet who is to come into the world." Jesus, knowing that they intended to come and make him king by force, withdrew again to a mountain by himself.

- Don't evaluate your situation until you have heard from God.

2. Understanding your circumstances from God's past dealings.

Joshua 4:1-7

- When the whole nation had finished crossing the Jordan, the LORD said to Joshua, "Choose twelve men from among the people, one from each tribe, and tell them to take up twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan from right where the priests stood and to carry them over with you and put them down at the place where you stay tonight." So Joshua called together the twelve men he had appointed from the Israelites, one from each tribe, and said to them, "Go over before the ark of the LORD your God into the middle of the Jordan. Each of you is to take up a stone on his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the Israelites, to serve as a sign among you. In the future, when your children ask you, 'What do these stones mean?' tell them that the flow of the Jordan was cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD. When it crossed the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. These stones are to be a memorial to the people of Israel forever."

- A spiritual marker identifies a time of transition, decision or direction when I clearly know that God has guided me.

[*Spiritual marker is for u to review]

- When we review our spiritual markers, we can see more clearly the directions in which God has been moving my life and ministry.

Ephesians 4:15-16

- Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

- God speaks through the Church.

- A good Church is one that everyone works.

1. The Church help you to prevent you from backsliding.

- People who say they don't need the Church is either they are ignorant/arrogant.

- Fragile snowflakes is powerful if many comes together.

2. The Church helps you develop spiritual Muscles!

3. The Church helps you move out of self centered isolation.

- When 1 part of the body suffer, the rest suffers.

4. God has a UNIQUE role in the Church for you!

- When we get to share, we will grow stronger.

- The Church is the one that helps you know God's will.

Truth hurts!!!

Trust God to provide u cousel through other believers. Turn for counsel on major decisions.

Sister wanping sharing...

We can share our testimony by:
- Attitude
- Actions
- Words

Matthew 8:1-3
- When he came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed him. A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, "Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean." Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" Immediately he was cured of his leprosy.

Your attitude:
- Attitude comes from knowing who you are.
- Know that we are ambassadors of Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:20
- We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.

- Do it with love!
- You yourself must have a love relationship with God in order to love others.

Colossians 3:12-14
- Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

- Love people for who they are.
- Acceptance: Accept people for who they are.

Matthew 5:46-48
- If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Your words:
- Encourage, Praise, Bless
- Be positive. Don't complain!

Philippians 2:14
- Do everything without complaining or arguing.

- Make a difference in your words.
- Say the right thing at the right time.
- Everything has its own timing.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-4
- There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance.

- There is a time for everything.

Your actions:
- Your actions will match up the needs.
- Work with Holy Spirit. Need to work where God is at work.

John 12-32
- But I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself."

greetings zealot peeps.
had street evangelism today @ Fuhua Secondary. guess wat? 56 ppl was expose to the gospel and 18 of them accepted Jesus into their lifes. frankly speaking, i'm not surprise by the numbers. because i know God will surely provide and without Him in our midst, this street evangelism wun be a success. so how abt big hands to God. yeah? thanks for praying for this event and the people. indeed glory goes back to Him. *claps claps*

came across this comment made by our ppl, it was said "hey arent we like letting these ppl go off without sharing the gospel to them? then instead we sit here and rest."

wat the person said was so true! think, how many times have we let ppl who still dunno abt Christ just pass us. in order to save the world, we have to make evangelism as a life style to us. everyday, we've got to share to someone. it's like brushing our teeth every morning, unless u dun. haha! y wait till a certain event then start to share? y wait till when pastor or anione approach u to spur u up then start to share? but y not, let in be part of ur life? feeling uncomfortable then u dun share the gospel. yeah?

secondary school students hear this, God put u in ur school not by chance. u have a purpose inside there which is to share ur faith with ur friends. u got to see this and start doing it already before u regret. yeah? i really hope thru this event, it somehow can spur u up. have a clearly picture of wat u need to do as a student of so and so. yup! work with God.

GOD'S SPEAKING TO HIS PEOPLE

Pastor Daniel sharing...

- God speaks to every people.
- If a christian doesn't know when God is speaking, he is in trouble.

John 8:47
- He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.

John 10:2-4
- The man who enters by the gate is the shepherd of his sheep. The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.

John 10:14
- I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me.

- We can recongnize His voice for we are His people.

He spoke through:
- Angels (Genesis 16)
- Vision (Genesis 15)
- Dreams (Genesis 28:10-19)
- A gentle whisper (1Kings 19:12)
- A miraculous signs (Exodus 8:20-25)
- And others

- We need to be more interested in what He is saying than how He does it.

3 important Factor each time God speaks:
1. When God speaks it's unique for that individual.
2. When God speaks, the person was sure that God was speaking.
3. When God spoke, the person will know what God is saying.

God speaks through:
1. Bible
2. Prayer
3. Circumstances
4. Church

The key to knowing God's voice:
1. Not a formula
2. Not a miraculous sign
- When we ask for miraculous sign, it shows a sign of unbelief.
- "Putting out a fleece" like Gideon is often a sign of your unbelief or unwilling-ness on your part to trust God for an answer.
3. Not open Doors/closed Doors
- God uses circumstances that sometimes speaks to us.
- Circumstances done cannot be the determinating factor.

The key to knowing a God's voice is a LOVE RELATIONSHIP.
- God is always doing something and He wants us to do it alongside with Him.
- Bible and prayer comes together.

1) God speaks to us through the Bible.
- "Man does not live by bread alone...but every word from the mouth of God."

2 Timothy 3:16-17
- All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

- Without the Holy Spirit, you cannot understand the Bible.
- If the Holy Spirit doesn't teach or speak to us, the Bible will be just another storybook.

1 Corinthians 2:11-13
- For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.

1 Corinthians 2:14
- The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

1 Corinthians 2:15
- The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment.

- Unaided by the Spirit of God, it will be foolishness to us. Aided by the Spirit, we can understand all things.
- A person cannot understand spiritual truths unless the Holy Spirit guides us.

5 things that you should do to experience Him:
1. You read the word of God. The Bible.
2. The spirit of truth takes the word of God and reveals truth.
3. You adjust your life to the truth of God.
- Moses paid a high price for arguing with God.
- If God speaks to us and we choose not to adjust to the truth, He's not gonna to speak to us.

Amos 8:11-12
- "The days are coming," declares the Sovereign LORD, "when I will send a famine through the land—not a famine of food or a thirst for water, but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD. Men will stagger from sea to sea and wander from north to east, searching for the word of the LORD, but they will not find it.

1 Samuel 3:19
- The LORD was with Samuel as he grew up, and he let none of his words fall to the ground.

- Don't let a single word drop to the ground.

4. You obey Him.

Luke 8:5-15
- "A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds of the air ate it up. Some fell on rock, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown." When he said this, he called out, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear." His disciples asked him what this parable meant. He said, "The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that," 'though seeing, they may not see; though hearing, they may not understand.' "This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God. Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. Those on the rock are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life's worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.

- Experiencing Him is a thing. Obey Him is another thing!

5. God works in and through us to accomplish His purposes.

2) God speaks through us through Prayer.
- Prayer is a relationship.
- Prayer is a two-way fellowship and communication with God.
- Whatever God says in prayer is far more important than what we say.
- Prayer is designed to adjust you to God than to adjust God to you.

2 things about prayers:
1. Spiritual Concentration.
- When we pray, look out for God to reply immediately.

John 11:1-5
- Now a man named Lazarus was sick. He was from Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha. This Mary, whose brother Lazarus now lay sick, was the same one who poured perfume on the Lord and wiped his feet with her hair. So the sisters sent word to Jesus, "Lord, the one you love is sick." When he heard this, Jesus said, "This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God's glory so that God's Son may be glorified through it." Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.

- God wants us to know Him more deeper.
- Jesus is not just healer, He is life.

WORKING WITH GOD

Pastor Daniel sharing...

3 characteristics of God's nature

1. God is Love
- His will is always the BEST
- God's very nature is love. He can't do evil to you...He simply CANNOT!!

2 reasons why bad things happen:
1. God allowed it so that we can grow.
2. We do it ourselves.

- God does bring discipline but even His discipline is based on LOVE.

Hebrews 12:6
- Because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son.

- His love will never change!
- His love for us was settled on the cross.

- When we look at our circumstances, we must ALWAYS look with the BACKDROP OF THE CROSS BEHIND.

1 John 3:16
- This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.

- Trust that His way is the best way.
- God's commands are also for our own good.

Deuteronomy 10:12-13
- And now, O Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the LORD's commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good?

- Life is full of landmines. God doesn't want us to wreck our life and miss our His Best for us! Go His way and live.

2. God is ALL KNOWING
- His directions is always RIGHT. Even when it don't make sense!
- We need to trust Him.
- God never makes mistake.

3. God is ALL POWERFUL
- He can ENABLE YOU TO ACCOMPLISH all He asks you to do (His will).
- If you do God's way, you will get God's result.
- If you do Man's way, you will get Man's result.
- Ordinary men in the handsof an extraordinary God love extraordinary lives.
- God has always given His people assignments that are too big for them to handle, so that the world can see what God can do!

2 things to experience God
1. Experiencing God by knowing He is at work around us.
- God is orchestrating history. God is the one who is at work redeeming a lost world. His desire is to involve His people in reaching the lost.

2 Corinthians 5:17-20
- Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.

Jesus examples:
John 5:17
- Jesus said to them, "My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I, too, am working."

John 5:19-20
- Jesus gave them this answer: "I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, to your amazement he will show him even greater things than these.

2. Experiencing God by working with Him

1) Romans 3:10-11
- As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God.

- We need to know where God is working.

2) John 6:44
- No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.

Luke 19:5
- When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, "Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today."

How do we know who God is working on?
- Our goal should be, "Is my heavenly Father working here? Because if He is, I want to be involved."

Share Jesus without fear. 5 questions to ask.
1. Do you have any spiritual beliefs?
2. To you who is Jesus?
3. Do you think there is a heaven or hell?
4. If you died right now, where would you go? If they say heaven, I say why would God let you in.
5. If what you believe were not true, would you want to know more about it?

GOD PURSUES A LOVE RELATIONSHIP

Pastor Daniel sharing...

Matthew 22:37-38
- Jesus replied: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment."

John 14:21
- Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him.

John 14:31
- But the world must learn that I love the Father and that I do exactly what my Father has commanded me. "Come now; let us leave.

If you want to experience God, you have to: Love and Obey

If you have an obedience problem, you have a love problem.

Everything in your Christian life depends on the quality of your love.

1. WE ARE CREATED FOR A LOVE RELATIONSHIP
- Highest things you ever get.
- Highest relationship .
- Highest achievement.
- Highest position in life.

Matthew 6:24
- No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.

- Cannot serve both God n Money.
- Either Love this or hate the other.
- God love you first.
- God is the one who choose you, not you choose Him!

Romans 3:10-12
- As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one."

Jeremiah 31:3
- The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.

John 6:44
- No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.

- God is interested in your heart.

Revelation 3:20
- Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door. I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.

- God can wait, He will never force you.

2. WE ARE CREATED NOT FOR TIME, BUT ETERNITY
- Hell is the very absence of God's presence.
- God uses your time here on earth to shape your future usefulness in eternity.

Philippians 3:4-14
- though I myself have reasons for such confidence. If anyone else thinks he has reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more: circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee; as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for legalistic righteousness, faultless. But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

-Forgetting those things which are behind.
- Be more Christ like.

3. WE ARE CREATED TO FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD
- Start with the first step.
- The more time you spend with God, the relationship increase.

4. WE ARE CREATED FOR A PERSONAL AND PRACTICAL RELATIONSHIP

Ephesians 1:19-20
- and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms.

Genesis 3:20-21 =>Adam and Eve
Genesis 16:1-13 => Hagar
1 Kings 3:5-13 => Solomon
Mark 6:7-13 => The 12 disciples

- God relationship with man is very practical.
