Hey guys!! I wanna share a sermon with u. Friday, 21/09/97 i went to my teacher church with her. They having Vision Rally with Paya Lebar Church called Trinity Christian Centre.

Luke 9:51-62
Samaritan Opposition
- As the time approached for him to be taken up to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem. And he sent messengers on ahead, who went into a Samaritan village to get things ready for him; but the people there did not welcome him, because he was heading for Jerusalem. When the disciples James and John saw this, they asked, "Lord, do you want us to call fire down from heaven to destroy them?" But Jesus turned and rebuked them, and they went to another village.
The Cost of Following Jesus
As they were walking along the road, a man said to him, "I will follow you wherever you go." Jesus replied, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head." He said to another man, "Follow me." But the man replied, "Lord, first let me go and bury my father." Jesus said to him, "Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God." Still another said, "I will follow you, Lord; but first let me go back and say good-by to my family." Jesus replied, "No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God."

Not Peace but Division
- "I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!

- Then Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he made his way to Jerusalem.

Luke 13:31-33
Jesus' Sorrow for Jerusalem
- At that time some Pharisees came to Jesus and said to him, "Leave this place and go somewhere else. Herod wants to kill you." He replied, "Go tell that fox, 'I will drive out demons and heal people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal.' In any case, I must keep going today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem!

- Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee.

Jesus Again Predicts His Death
Jesus took the Twelve aside and told them, "We are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written by the prophets about the Son of Man will be fulfilled.

- Things that have happened in the past, it will define the same in the future.

Luke 19:11
The Parable of the Ten Minas
- While they were listening to this, he went on to tell them a parable, because he was near Jerusalem and the people thought that the kingdom of God was going to appear at once.

- After Jesus had said this, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.

Luke 19:36-42
- As he went along, people spread their cloaks on the road. When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen:"Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!" Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, "Teacher, rebuke your disciples!" "I tell you," he replied, "if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out." As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it and said, "If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes.

Matthew 26:21
- And while they were eating, he said, "I tell you the truth, one of you will betray me."

Matthew 26:36-46
Gethsemane
- Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, "Sit here while I go over there and pray." He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. Then he said to them, "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me." Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will." Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?" he asked Peter. "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak." He went away a second time and prayed, "My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done." When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy. So he left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing. Then he returned to the disciples and said to them, "Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour is near, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Rise, let us go! Here comes my betrayer!"

Galatians 6 (U all go read yourself, if not u all will be falling asleep.lol.)

- Do not be weary.

- Everything u do, go a little farther.

- Believe and trust God ALWAYS.

- When u wanna give up, just go a little farther.

- Not step backwards like a timid person, but buck up and go a little farther.

Philippians 4 (U all go read yourself...)

Deuteronomy 7:22
- The LORD your God will drive out those nations before you, little by little. You will not be allowed to eliminate them all at once, or the wild animals will multiply around you.

- Walk with God rather than run.
It means that we should walk slowly, step by step with God and not run so quickly as though u are going for a race. (:

- Go a little farther for family, nation, ministry, studies, everything u do.
We'ill see an unbelieveable blessing from God.

- Keep on overcoming.

- Keep on moving.

I'm sorry there's alot of verses. hope u all wont feel boring, and it will be useful for u all.. Apply it into your life!! U see me hightlighting red words, it is actually the key words for the sermon.. GO A LITTLE FARTHER!! Enjoy!!
