pls uphold him in ur daily prayers! as YI, we are a body of Christ! so if one suffer, the whole body suffers! so let's pray for our brother.. the thing is FAITH!!! c'mon!! i believe God will heal him =D

-We are compelled to share.. compelled.. wat does it mean? it mean u cannot dun share.. U HAF TO SHARE! =D

John 17:18
-as God gave Jesus a mission in the world, Jesus gave us a mission in the world.
Acts 20:24
- the most important thing is tat I (paul) complete the mission God has given to me, if not my life is worth nothing.

Mission is "sending" in Latin..
now.. wat mission are we toking abt?

The Great Commission! im sure u all noe wat i am toking abt.. if u dunno.. go see Matthew 28:18
however, many of us are thinking the great commission as the great "suggestion"

it means tat we are often tinking tat when we are free den we do the great commission!
but that is a mission for us! a muz for us! Jesus gave it to us!

why tell the gospel to the world?

1.) Jesus commanded us to tell. ~ called to be world changers ~
***God holds u RESPONSIBLE for the non-believers arnd u***
2.) our mission is a great priviledge.
3.) your mission is the greatest thing u can do for someone.. u haf the cure for all thing!
- sucidal thoughts.. cancer.. aids.. watever wateveR!! u haf the cure! share it!
4.) our mission has eternal significance.
~we are all a "ten" at something.. which means we confirm guarantee plus chop has talents in us.. cuz it is given by God. =D
dun let laziness get u down.
every breath u take in, u r one breath nearer to death. den u cannot share le wor .....
dun delay sharing... "aiya, tml den share ba"
if we love one another, we will share.. for it is the cure!

your mission gives ur life a meaning.. it is the purpose of ur life!
-the best use of life is to spend it something that outlasts it! tat is the kingdom of God..
influence = power to affect how someone/something developed, thinks or behave.
Fame =/= influence.... wealth =/= influence...
Jesus commanded us to use our influence!

- u r selfish if u do not use ur influence..
Matthew 5:16
JESUS COMMANDED us to use our influence! =D so ppl.. let's use it.. and do the great commission.. in this way, we fulfil 2 commands from God =D

3 ways to lift Jesus up in your life

in my life, be lifted high
in my world, be lifted high
in my love, be lifted high
we wanna lift God up to the extreme top in our life. below are some ways to really lift Him up. Might be hard but your desire for God is greater than anything.
This is a humble servant from God, greetings. As you read this Holy spirit guide through your thinking.
(1)...Go the extra mile in ALL your work>>Whether it is helping others,job,serving others, ministry, cleaning toilet bowl, doing things you don't like, give all you have and a little extra mile in all you do.This practice when done consistently, will eventually provoke question by curious observers(Fragrance of christ), giving you the chance to share your reason and faith. Romans 12:11 Never be lazy in your work, but serve the Lord enthusiastically. Everi good thing we do, Etc wiping the white board, do it joyfully, you serve God not your teacher :P

(2)...Put a watch on you words>> Guard your tongue, try to praise people rather than criticizing, even its just plae plae, sometimes it reveals whether we have been growing.Encourage one another. My classmates have the worldly righteousness but when they see other races they begin to laugh and mock.James 3:6 And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is full of wickedness that can ruin your whole life. It can turn the entire course of your life into a blazing flame of destruction, for it is set on fire by hell itself. we have to tame our mouth. In Proverbs 17:5 those who mock the poor insult their Maker;those who rejoice at the misfortune of others will be punished. This verse not just saying abt the poor but the ppl seem unlovable to other ppl, we have to love them as ourself. This, people would know we are different, true friend...
DON'T SCOLD VULGAR! it really really really discourage people, and bible tell us tame our mouths, imagine when you are having a soccer match but your captain was scolding you,reciting vulgar as poems, how would you feel? That is how people blasheme against our God...

(3)Break out of your comfort zone>>help a stranger in need.(regardless girl or boy,looks,anything)Introduce youself to a neighbour.Take a friend ,who is not so close with you,(probably a gentile ^.^) to a lunch, at least talk to him. Make a new friend, each time you step ninto the life of someone else, incredible opportunities to share christ are likely to follow. Etc,in class ntn to do, target someone you wan to see him/her coming to christ(but don't go by looks,usually those not so popular ppl are easy targets) talk to this person, have a relationship and begin to share to this person.

so great to see growth but God wan our whole life dedicated to Him, be persistent in doing these.
Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them. Apply to your life, don't be ashamed to say "i've change, God is the reason" to someone.

Have breaktrus in your life, lift Jesus up up up High!!!Live for God? show it! lets all work towards it. When you are even in school, think of the teachings, apply it. MOST IMPORTANT!!>>> BE Teachable!! always accept those 'scoldings' but it is just correcting you, help you be christ-like.

below this is my not so mini sermon. dun miss it!

this week sister wanping is sharing!! yay!!

Fellowship.

a child cannot grow properly with a family setting. he need parents to take care of him, feed him milk, show him love and let him grow. similarly, spritually we need a family too. the whole body of Christ is family!! when we are born physically, we are born into our physical family! zhi was born into the goat family, ken quak born into the duck family, derek was born into the orange family, julia the monkey family, sabrina the banana family, siewling the nuts family, ah beng the gangster family, ongnei the kueh family and me the bear family!! that's how i got brother bear -_-. when we are born again, we are born into the spiritual family like now!!

our relationship with God is personal, not private. we should share our experiences and troubles that we have throughout the week. one day, our family will be in heaven and we will see each other everyday for eternality, so we should practice being family right now! fellowship is being family to fellow brothers and sisters!

4 points to fellowship.

1)we are all formed for God's family! rom 12:5 says we cannot do without each other, we belong together!!
many people are in the family, but they are totally disconnected from the family. just like leprosy, the limb is first disconnected from the body, making it feel totally numb. it den slowly rots away.
similarly for a fellow brother, it is possible for people to come in and out of the church weekly, but if they stay disconnected, that will eventually rot away. we have to stay connected if we do not want to rot.

2)being God's disciples, we have to love. what is love then? 1 john 3:16 explains it by saying," this is how we know love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.". we are supposed to die for each other.
fellowship is dying for each other. it is to give up something valuable for the ones you love.
what is that valuble thing? time. time is God's currency of love. God give us all the same amount of time. it is how wisely we use it that will give rise to it's values.

love need to be shown by actions. 1 john 3:18 says," Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.". john 13: 34-35 says," a new command i give you: Love one another. As i have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." by loving others, especially the ones in the family of God, people see this Love and recgonize that we are christians because of this love!!

3)we are also accountable to the family. we ought to let the people in the family know what's happening in our lives. we are accountable for our character, behavior, attitude. it is always easier to be holy where there's somebody to bug you!!

being accountable also prevents backsliding. satan loves isolated people, he will slowly lure them away from God. But if you are connected, he cant hit you that easily. family will pull you out of sin, help you stand on your own two feet! heb 10:25 says,"let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day aproaching.". do not compromise your faith for anything else. keep meeting one another.

when this verse was written, persecution against christians were prevalant. meeting up may mean that they may die. would we give up meeting one another because of such reasons? behind this simple verse lies a very powerful meaning. the importance of meeting up and encouraging one another, to push each other on to greater heights.

4)we need others in our lives. matt 18:20 says,"For where two or three come together in my name, there am i with them.". as we gather, God the father is surely with us. when we are there for each other, Gos is always with us. rom 12:10 says,"Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.". we should love other genuinely, with honesty, without hiding any truths. this will attract non believers to us!

all humans have 2 kinds of needs: the need to be understood, to know why that are doing this.
the need to have their feelings validated, to feel assured.
fellowship keeps us from sinning. 1 john 1:7 says,"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.".
james 5:16 also says,"therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.". we should pray for each other, confess sins to each other and forgive each other!! this is that family are for!!

before the actual sermon, i wanna give a mini sermon, given by none other than me!!! sorry ar derek, you never sign copyright law say i cannot copy you.

in John 15:2 it is says:"He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.".

according to dictionary.com, pruning is "To cut off or remove dead or living parts or branches of (a plant, for example) to improve shape or growth.". God the gardener will sometimes cut back on our dead parts, such as sin and bad habits, so that we can grow better. this may be painful, cos God will take something out of your life. you'll feel empty at first, but God will fill up that hole with His peace, love and joy.

but pruning not only involves removal dead parts. it sometimes involve the removal of living parts, which represents the good parts in our lives. this is so that we would be even more fruitful. for example, singing is not a bad thing. one day God may ask derek to stop singing, take away this gift from him, give him soar throat or something like that. He may do this in order for derek to grow stronger.

examples from the bible, you may ask? God did not give Abraham a son, He took that part away from him at first. the Irony is that God promises that His discendants will be as many as the sands on the shore, yet he is without a child for the first 99 years of his life! why did God do this? so that Abraham's faith will be strengthened. after God gave him a son, he did not even hesitate to sacrifice him, showing complete faith in God.

Moses, God took everything from him. his status, power, wealth, women, security, everything. God cut away so much that Moses felt worthless. eventually, after the successful pruning, Moses led the people of Israel into the Promised Land.

Samson, God took away his eyes and his strength by handing him over to the philistines. eventually he mustered enough strength to kill so many philistines that the bible did not state it's number.

Job, God allowed satan to take EVERYTHING from him, his children, his livestock, his fortunes, even his health. he was covered with boils that even when he sits down, his butt feels painful. i wonder how he pees. in the end God blessed him with so much more!!!

yes, pruning can be painful. it takes a time of brokeness before God can fill you up. God will have to break you down, make you humble before Him before He can work on you, just like a potter have to soften the clay.

for example, alkene is a very important hydrocarbon, it is the starting meterial for plastics. alkenes cannot be extracted from crude oil, but can only be obtained by cracking of big alkane molecules. big alkane molecules can be extracted straight from the crude oil, but it is not that useful by it's own, as it is big and difficult to combust, mind as well just crack it. by cracking, a process whereby big alkane molecules are passed through a nickel cataylst and are heated at 4000*C, the big useless alkane molecules will be broken down into smaller useful alkene molecules.

similarly, in order for God to successfully use us, we must go through a period of cracking, to be broken down so that God can fill up the gaps. it will often be painful (try 4000*c and tell me if it's painful or not), but the rewards are much better. when you guys suffer, remember romans 8:28,"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.". God always works for the good of all those who love Him, so if you love Him, rest assured that the pain you feel now will one ay be fruitful.

ok, so i am a chemistry freak and it was mdm yaw who shared romans 8:28 with me. this mini sermon is not mini at all. haha. ah well. here comes the real thing!

i have BIG news to share today!!

whheeeees!! come on come on. get EXCITED!!

ELENA (my sec3 guides junior if u all dunno who) is someone who i wanted to bring to Christ long ago. shared to her once and she didnt receive Christ. and finally last friday, i heard God telling me to share to her again. but again, she never accept Christ. she told me "monday den i tell u my answer" and so monday came. i called her to ask if she wanted to let Jesus come into her life, she said YES.

and so, TODAY, tuesday, 18 july 2006,

Praise Him! =D sunday bible study is great! it is attracting me to go again haha =x i advice u all to go.. learn alot =D

*Tabernacle*
now wat is tabernacle? it is a tent tat is mentioned in the old testament.. inside the tent is.. the representation of God's presence!

at the entrance, there is a place for sacrifice of animals and a bronze basin for washing hands.. haha.. after killing animals got blood on hand ma =p

we are going into the tabernacle in "words" haha..
first, even b4 u get to the sacrifice table, u haf to enter a gate..

1.) enter His gates wif THANKSGIVING
we need to enter His gates wif thanksgiving..
Psalms 100:4 ( people... PLEASE.. read the verse! as u read this sermon notes.. always haf a handy bible wif u.. ty..)
when u approach God, dun straightaway bombard Him wif ur needs..
How to give thanks?
-thank Him for answering ur prayers.
-thank Him for spiritual and relational blessings
-thank him for material blessing ( i got lots of this man) lols.. got $250 after even since i tithe wahahahha =p
you can give thanks to God for everything.. be it good or bad, u respond to God's concrete acts by thanksgiving..
for good and bad.. hmm example for u all ba =D

the tsunami.. ppl blame God for allowing the tsunami to come and destroy their properties.. destroy their families.. but! wat they dun realise is tat God is actually answering their prayers! christians there haf prayed for the terrorists to go away.. God is taking them away thru the tsunami!! cuz the tsunami destroy the properties of the terrorists and the terrorists were so affected that they disbanded themselves =D so be it good or bad situation, praise Him and thank Him. =D

2.) we need to enter wif praise
6 reasons to praise God--- as if we nid.. =p

-praise Him tat He is a living God - Matthew 16:16
-God is holy - Psalms 39:2
-He is spirit. - Psalms 139:7
- God is love - John 3:16
- God is father - John 14:6
- He is glory - Hebrews 1:3
Praise God for hu He is.. not juz wat He does, worship His attributes..

3.) altar of cleansing.. ( this is the bronze basin =D )
Psalms 66:18 - God will not hear u if u haf sins in ur life.. so b4 u pray, ask for forgiveness..
Ephesians 4:22-23
when u name ur sins to God,
-ur conscience will be cleansed.
-u will be flooded wif relief that God has forgiven u
-you will be able to pray freely
your life will be radically changed
1 John 1:9
He is faithful and will forgive! =D

4.) u worship God
there is freedom in God's presence

we are creatures, created by God, and we loves to communicate.. imagine ur hp and com gone.. ur mouth oso gone =p u cant communicate at all! not even sms?! how will u feel? =x

prayers is how we communicate wif God.. our QT.. we gotta do it daily wor.. Youth Impact is oso having a one year campaign.. to do our QT daily for a year.. and to apply wat we learn into our lives.. c'mon man!! we can do it! yea ! =D

we haf to remain in God's word, but why?

- firstly, it is nourishment for our strength and our growth.

it is the staple diet for us..
Hebrews 5:14
Solid food is for those hu are mature.. so are u mature? if u r, u nid solid food from God.. if u r not, u nid milk from God.. they all come from the word of God.. but if u r mature, u need even more.. dun tink u nid less when u r mature dude ... ahhaha.. =p

to study the bible, u nid to desire the word of God,to ask questions..
if u r mature, for all decisions tat u make.. like wat cca shd i go to? u will make it according to the word of God..
budden u ask.. WA! God will tell me in the bible i nid to go for ncc ( land ) meh? he will say dun go badminton meh?

u nid wisdom from God to do God's works.

the cost of discipleship.. now.. this doesn't mean how u disciple ppl.. this means.. how u be a disciple of Jesus urself!
a christian =/= disciple

Jesus Himself gave criterias for being a disciple of Him.
-you need commitment. dun juz be a casual follower!

in order to show tat we love God, we muz die to ourselves..
-we muz put God above all our wants.. above everything!

Jesus onli wants disciples.. casual followers will NOT go to heaven! salvation is free.. but discipleship will cost u everything.

for those hu r weak in the Word, u will be shaken.. tats why.. READ UR BIBLE!
ok the answer.... Jesus was referring to our loyalty to Him.. God above family..

2.) purpose, personal goals
we muz die to our desires daily!
it no longer i hu live, but Christ lives in me.. sounds familiar? haaha..
what would Jesus do if He were in ur shoes..
a real disciple of Jesus will not do somthing without consulting Jesus first, and when God says change plan, a real disciple will change it.
when u satisfy God, u feel satisfied.

3qns to see if u r a disciple.
are ur decisions made to please God or please ur ego?
haven u ask God before making a decision?
and when God say change plan! wat do u do?

3.) Luke 14:33
give up ur possessions..
God nv ask u to sell watever u haf.. ( uncle tips!) now.. <<<>

God din say we cannot possess anything! he juz dun wan things to possess us!

we should live simply so tat others may simply live...
this means to live simply and use the $$ to bless others to simply live too! =D
